As part of the complete renovation of an elegant nineteenth-century residence, the challenge was considerable: to reconcile the preservation of a remarkable architectural heritage with the discreet but effective integration of modern technologies, capable of ensuring a high level of comfort and energy performance.
This three-storey residence has thus been the subject of an ambitious rehabilitation programme, driven by a clear desire: to offer its occupants a healthy, comfortable and sustainable living environment, without ever betraying the soul or the original aesthetics of the building. At the heart of this project, several issues guided the technical and architectural choices: reducing energy consumption, guaranteeing impeccable indoor air quality, preventing humidity problems and maintaining thermal comfort, including during hot summer episodes.
To meet these requirements, a particularly well-suited technical solution was implemented. Zehnder ComfoAir Q600 dual-flow ventilation system was an obvious choice. It ensures continuous air renewal while guaranteeing excellent filtration quality. This device was coupled with the cooling unit Zehnder ComfoClime 36, integrated directly into the ventilation, allowing the rooms to be cooled in a natural and efficient way during the summer.
In addition to technical performance, the choice of this equipment was also based on tailor-made technical support. It was possible to integrate the duct networks into the existing building by cleverly exploiting the available volumes, such as false ceilings or old chimney flues, thus preserving the visual and structural integrity of the place.
This project demonstrates that a heritage renovation can perfectly rhyme with modernity, as long as it is thought out in a global way, with high standards and sensitivity. By combining energy performance, thermal comfort and respect for old buildings, this project is part of a new way of conceiving sustainable and responsible renovation.
